81 Years since the Day Locomotive was Founded

It has been 81 years since Locomotive was founded. On August 14, 1936 Locomotive was created after the resolution was made by the Council of Public Commissions.

For the decades, Locomotive used to participate in the championships of the Soviet Union and Georgia. Loco got its first title in 1937. Our team became the champion of Georgia. Loco reached the same success after 8 years, in 1945.

After the secession of Georgia from the Soviet Union, Locomotive has succeeded to possess the cup of the country three times. For the first time, in 2000, our team beat Torpedo Kutaisi 4:2 in penalty shootouts and got a title.

After 2 years, Locomotive beat Torpedo once more in the final with the goals by Datunashvili and Janashia.

For the last time Loco has won the cup of Georgia was in 2005. Our team defeated Zestafoni 2:0 in the final. Bobokhidze and Manchkhava have netted against the Imereti club.

2 years ago Loco spread borders of action even more. With the initiative of the president, Lexo Topuria, football academy for children was established. The academy was founded in 2015 and for now more than 250 footballers are training in 12 age clubs.
