Locomotive being in the semi-final of Winter Cup

Locomotive Tbilisi has gained the authority to play in the semi-final of David Petriashvili Winter Cup.

On January 12^th, Locomotive held 4 matches in Tbilisi Olympic Palace. On a group stage, Lasha Chaghiashvili’s team beat Merani Martvili and Tskhinvali, although was defeated in the 3^rd tour clash with Saburtalo.

Locomotive defeated Merani 9:2. A hat trick was performed by Lasha Gvalia against Martvili, two of the goals are on the account of Giorgi Tsuleiskiri, as for Davit Jikia, Teimuraz Shonia, Sandro Shetsiruli and Lasha Ozbetelashvili, they have raided the gate of Merani for one time each.

Locomotive started the match against Merani with the following membership: Sherozia, Ubilava (c), Kurdadze, Gvalia, Jikia, Kikabidze.
Substitutes: Shonia, Chanturia, Andronikashvili, Samurkasov, Kiknadze, Kobakhidze, Gabadze, Shekiladze, Shetsiruli, Tsuleiskiri, Ozbetelashvili, Gugushvili.

In the 2^nd match, Loco gained victory over Tskhinvali 7:0. Double was performed by Shonia, Ozbetelashvili and Kiknadze, one of the goals is on Aleksandzre Andronikashvili’s account.

Saburtalo versus Locomotive opposition ended with 5:3. The rivals were netted by Shonia, Luka Kikabidze and Davit Ubilava.

After the loss against Saburtalo, Loco occupied the 2^nd place in Group D, with 6 points and gained the authority to play in the ¼ final.

In the quarter-final, Locomotive is going to compete with Sioni Bolnisi. Lasha Chaghiashvili’s team defeated Sioni 6:2.

Gvalia performed double against Bolnisi. Levan Kurdadze, Shonia, Ubilava and Oto Kobakhidze scored one goal each.

By defeating Sioni, Locomotive is allowed to play in semi-final. The last match of ½ final will take place on January 14^th.
