Locomotive through to 1/8 Final

Locomotive Tbilisi has hosted Chikhura Sachkhere at Mikheil Meskhi spare stadium, competing in 1/16 final for Davit Kipiani Cup of Georgia. The clash proceeded slowly but with a great effort. Being a host, Locomotive still possessed  little advantage, unfortunately, this advantage did not turn into any dangerous moments or scorings. The guests chose a defensive tactic and periodically carried out some positional strikes. Some meteorological circumstances complicated the procession of the match. Because of the strong wind, the footballers and the ball could hardly move. The spectators did not see many good moments in the first half. The second half was tense as well, although, superiority of Locomotive was vivid. The defenders of Chikhura made some rough mistakes, but the hosts could not benefit from it. One more mistake of Chikhura was followed by a corner kick in the end of the main time. The corner shot hit the hand of the guests' defender in the penalty area of a goakeeper, thus the head referee signalled a penalty kick. Temur Shonia approached the ball, the tensed moment did not effect the experienced footballer, so he left no chance to Dino Hamzich 1:0. Locomotive ended their unpleasant series by winning the Cup and moved on to the next episode.
