Technical Director of FC Locomotive Tbilisi, spoke at the Summit of the Future in New York on September 21

George Kipiani, former footballer and Technical Director of FC Locomotive Tbilisi, spoke at the Summit of the Future in New York on September 21, coinciding with the International Day of Peace.
A strong advocate for gender equality and a friend of UNFPA Georgia, he addressed the session "Dismantling Patriarchal Power Structures."

Kipiani highlighted the importance of partnering with UNFPA to raise awareness about equal opportunities in football for girls and boys.

He stated: "We are working to create a safe, violence-free environment for girls in football by providing training for staff involved with female players. With UNFPA’s guidance, a document on sexual harassment prevention in football was developed by the Georgian Football Federation #GFF and will soon be adopted by FC Locomotive."

Since 2018, FC Locomotive Tbilisi has collaborated with UNFPA Georgia to promote men's and boys' involvement in advocating for gender equality and to encourage girls' participation in football.
Kipiani participated in the Summit of the Future Action Days, which focus on inclusive multistakeholder partnerships aimed at enhancing global cooperation. These Action Days (September 20-21) precede the Summit of the Future (September 22-23), where world leaders discuss advancing collective action for a more peaceful and equitable world.
