Nika Asatashvili - This Year's Cyber League is Very Large-Scale, and the Goal is to Become Champi
About two years ago, FC Locomotive Tbilisi established an eSports team.
At that time, Loco was the first organization to form a team in electronic football, assembling a squad with the strongest gamers—Nika Asatashvili and Lado Oniani.
A major Cyber League competition is set to begin in Georgia soon, and our team will be participating. We spoke with Nika Asatashvili about the tournament:
"Overall, last year was good. In Georgia’s Cyber League, we finished in third place in the 2v2 championship, while I won the 1v1 tournament.
As for other tournaments held in Georgia, we mostly finished in either first or second place. On the international stage, in the Middle East region, Lado ranked among the top 100 players, while I placed 138th. No other Georgians were in that ranking.
Regarding this year’s Cyber League, such a large-scale tournament with this kind of prize pool is being held for the first time. A total of 12 players are participating. The players are divided into groups, and I am in the first group, meaning I will have to face six opponents. My very first match is against a very strong opponent.
The goal is to become the champion, but we’ll see how things unfold. I would also like to add that in order to advance to the next tournament, which will be held in Mestia, you need to finish among the top 7 out of the 12 players. To qualify for the international tournament, you must finish in the top three. We are preparing, and hopefully, everything will go well," said Nika Asatashvili.
