Gavasha is back!

After a long course of medical treatment, the striker of “Locomotive” – Mamia Gavashelishvili came back to the club, being absolutely healthy. After a 9-month long pause, Mamia is starting a rehabilitation process and will join the team by the time of the season’s preparatory episode.


“I am very happy that all the unpleasant periods are left back for now and I came back here absolutely healthy. I would like to say thank you to all who stood by my side for this 9 months and supported me: my family, friends, relatives, known and unknown people. Lots of people used to be texting and calling, which meant a lot to me.

I am especially grateful to the president of “Locomotive” – Lekso Topuria, who helped me in everything from the very first day, Thank you to every member of Locomotive, footballers, who never let me give up and be upset during this period. I am also very thankful to the Georgian Football Federation and the footballers of the National team for their moral and financial assistance. Thank you to the clubs of Erovnuli Liga and the footballers.

I’d like to point out the special contribution of my wife as well. It would be very hard for me to undergo all this without her. Throughout this time, she has never left me for even a minute and has gone through everything with me – good and bad.

Football is my life and I’ve not considered leaving the field even for a minute. I used to attend the trainings of my team in Saguramo almost every day, trying to somehow compensate what I was missing. I hope that the rehabilitation process will be carried out as it’s planned and I will be able to join the team for the time of the new season’s preparatory episode.

 
I’ve learn a lot from this period of my life, it made me think about many things. I would like to say something to everyone fighting serious diseases – never give up, nothing is impossible. Just be strong and everything will work out” – says Mamia Gavashelishvili.
