FC Locomotive Tbilisi is preparing for the postponed match of the 24th round of National League 2 against Sagarejo Gareji.
The match between Loco and Gareji was supposed to be held on August 29 at the Davit Petriashvili Stadium, but it was postponed due to a bad weather and will be played at Mikheil Meskhi 2 tomorrow, September 27.
In the last two rounds, Gareji is unable to win. Our opponent first played a draw with Wit Georgia, and then lost to Poti Kolkheti 1913, a direct competitor. At the moment, Gareji and Poti have 55-55 points and share the first/second places in National League 2.
As for our team, Loco has collected 4 points in the last 2 rounds. We played 1:1 with Poti, and beat Tbilisi Merani 2:0 as a guest. Currently, FC Locomotive is in 8th place in the draw table with 23 points.
Loco and Gareji have already played twice in the current season. Loco won the first match 3:0. The goals were scored by Kurtanidze, Kiknadze and Kalandadze. In the second game, our team lost 2:3 in a dramatic battle. Ozbetelashvili and Kurtanidze managed to score goals from Loco side.
The victory over Gareji in the semi-finals of the Davit Kipiani Cup of Georgia in 2019 was outstanding for our team. Then we defeated the opponent 3:2 with the goals of Sikharulidze, Chanturia and Shonia.
