Locomotive’s first loss in the current season

“Locomotive” played their principal match of the 4^th round of Erovnuli Liga visiting “Dinamo” Tbilisi and experienced their first loss in the current season. After the match against “Merani”,  Soso Pruidze made just one substitution in the starting membership, pairing Tornike Dzebniauri with Temur Shonia, instead of Beka Dartsmelia.

The teams played quite carefully in the beginning, mainly determined to keep the ball in their possession. There was quite a harsh battle for gaining advantage in the center.

“Locomotive” survived being scored at the 19^th minute, when the ball passed over Sherozia’s door after Kutsia’s effective breakthrough. At the 22^nd minute, it was Kutsia again whose ball shot from close range was blocked by the crossbar.

The footballers of “Locomotive” first aimed at the door at the 34^th minute, however, after Irakli Sikharulidze’s breakthrough, the ball missed “Dinamo’s” door. Soso Pruidze’s team had a wonderful chance to open the score at the 40^th minute, when Dato Kirkitadze, having broken into the penalty area, left Samurkasovi unattended with the goalkeeper; Loco’s number 8 hit the ball to Kvaskhvadze.

 

At the 42^nd minute, “Locomotive” were left in minority.  The captain of the team, Davit Ubilava, received his second yellow card due to the foul, and thus was sent off the field. As for the half, it ended without any scorings – 0:0.

The second half had a logical scenario. The hosts were possessing the ball and were carrying out some positional strikes. As for the players of Locomotive, they were all involved in defending their positions, expecting a chance to counter attack. Already at the beginning of the match Sherozia had to repel several shots.  

As for a goal, it was first scored in “Locomotive’s” door at the 62^nd minute, when Sherozia was not able to catch a distant shot by the defender of Dinamo – Davit Kobouri, thus the ball rolled into the door.

At the 72^nd minute, a penalty kick was appointed in Sherozia’s door, which was accurately performed by Tornike Kapanadze, thus bringing two ball advantage to “Dinamo”. At the 79^th minute, the score became destructive for “Locomotive”. During another strike by Dinamo, Tornike Kirkitadze broke the ball in his own door. The fourth goal was scored against “Locomotive” a few second earlier the referee’s whistle. The final score was fixed by Vitor Pernambuco.

“Locomotive” experienced their first failure in the current season and lost the leading position on the league table. In the following round, the Tbilisians will be hosting “Dinamo” Batumi.
