3 IMPORTANT POINTS – LOCO ADVANCES ON THE 6TH POSITION
In the 19th round of Erovnuli Liga, Locomotive Tbilisi gained victory over Samtredia. On August 4, the match at Mikheil Meskhi spare stadium ended in favor of Lasha Chaghiashvili’s team 3-2.
Mamia Gavashelishvili became the hero of the match, he performed double against the guests.
Due to the disqualification, Loco’s captain, Davit Ubilava, could not assist his team in the match against Samtredia. His position was taken by Irakli Komakhidze as a left wing defender, Nika Chanturia served as a captain of the team.
The first half of the team ended without a goal. Neither of the teams managed to create real goal-scoring moments.
The second half started with the goal of Samtredia. At the 50th minute, Giorgi Akhaladze scored from the sharp angle and promoted his team.
Loco succeeded to equalized the score in 10 minutes. After the good pass by Otar Kobakhidze, Revaz Injgia, who had entered the field through substitution, tried to outpace the others in the penalty area, but he was outclassed by Giorgi Guruli and broke the ball in his own door.
At the 79th minute, Locomotive got on an advanced position thanks to Mamia Gavashelishvili. Loco’s forward scored a beautiful goal from the corner of penalty area.
Otar Kobakhidze and Zuriko Davitashvili could have increased the score. In the first case, Kobakhidze lacked the accuracy, as for Davitashvili, he was outclassed by the goalkeeper of the guest team, repelling the ball on corner.
Samtredia equalized the score on the 90th minute. In the penalty area, the striker of the guest team fell down because of Giorgi Gabadze’s foul, thus the head referee signaled a penalty kick, which was accurately done by Oleg Mamasakhlisi.
The author of the winning goal became Gavashelishvili within the compensated time by the referee. Mamia outpaced the others in the penalty area and thus scored his 7th goal in the current Erovnuli Liga.
After 19 rounds, Locomotive earned 22 points and moved up onto the 6th position. Lasha Chaghiashvili’s team will compete against Dinamo Tbilisi in the following match on August 12.
