Locomotive is getting closer to Europa League

“Locomotive” Tbilisi has won one of the most important clashes, so to say, and consequently, they have already guaranteed their advancement from the 4th place of the championship to Europa League.  In the clash against “Dila” Gori, Levan Korghalidze’s team gained an unquestionable victory.

The beginning of the match was a little messy on both sides. Some technical faults were evident while passing. 20 minutes passed in a way that there was no case of kicking towards the door. For the first time, Samurkasovi was the one who shot the ball in the door at the 28th minute. The young midfielder of Loco was trying to raid Chochishvili’s door with a distant, strong and unexpected shot, however, the ball was caught by the keeper, standing in the centre of the door. There were a lot of minor penalties and the match was often terminated, which eventually effected on the dynamics of the game.

The first real moment was created by the hosts at the 43rd minute, when Irakli Sikharulidze was about to net in “Dila’s” door, but Giorgi Chochishvili saved his team, leaping with self-devotion. That was all about the first half. The teams went on break with draw 0:0.

4 minutes after starting the second half, “Locomotive” had a chance to open the score. Levan Korghalidze’s team played a well-processed combination from the corner: Dato Kirkitadze rolled the ball towards Samurkasovi, who gave it back to Kirkitadze;  As for the threatening pass by the fast winger of the Tbilisians, it was received by Temur Shonia, who netted a header 1:0 in favor of “Locomotive”.

In the second half, out of the moments created by “Locomotive”, we should mention a distant, strong shot by  Davit Ubilava on a counter-attack, which passed over the door. The substitute, Beka Dartsmelia was actively engaged in the match. He made the game even more tensed.

Eventually, the players of Gori had no strength left to carry out massive strikes, the hosts possessed the ball quite well. The final whistle blow by the referee brought three very important points to Levan Korghalidze’s  team once again. “Locomotive” increased the difference with their immediate runner up - “Torpedo” up to 6 and thus got closer to the zone of Europa League.
